Just when I thought I started to get ahead, my hatch breaks. It will not close, it's almost like the arm of the hatch is not letting it close. For worst case scenario what are my options?

Sorry guys, I haven't been on lately. Been doing lots of work! The hatch is still broke. Its the hatch in the cabin above the table. It needs a lot of work even before this happened. Its leaking pretty bad and as far as I know its just the gasket or seal so I bought a replacement. BUT it still will not close even with WD40. I don't have any pictures, I currently have the boat at the garage having the new engine gone over and checked. The adhesive on the back of the hatch door pulled away from where it connects at the hull and its complicated to explain.

Jim Black from Great Lakes Skipper was a direct replacement for my hatch when it broke. 2000 268 Vista http://greatlakesskipper.com/jim-black- ... cape-hatch

Steven, apologies for my being dumb - are you saying this was a direct drop in replacement? No cutting / drilling?

I also have a 2000 268 Vista and have been trying to find a replacement for the Lewmar unit that long ago started leaking.

Thanks in advance

Philip

No cutting or drilling.. The screw holes don't match, but the inside trim ring covers them any way. Used sealant and dropped it in, screwed it in, and was on my way...
