Just wanted to share this item I found. We have been having an issue with a odor when we flushed. The odd thing was the odor would come out the AC vents. Tried all the usual things and more. New filter, flushed the tank, replaced the duck bills but still had the problem. Finally I noticed a whistling sound when the unit flushed and found air leaks where the wires exit the float sensors. Dabbed caulk at those points and problem solved. I would not have thought there would be so much airflow but the tank does pressurize when it flushes and the gas needs to go somewhere. In our case, it was the engine compartment which then passed into the AC air intake. ![]() |

Great fix! but isn't it a problem that you are getting engine compartment air into your AC air intake? |

I do intend to look at that but in peeking through the gunnels, there are open spots where the cabling and piping pass thru that do not appear to be sealed. When I open up the AC unit area, I can see the hull beyond the condenser and there does not appear to be anything dividing that cavity from the unfinished hull. We do not have CO issues in the cabin. I have sent one detector in for a rebuild and added another stand alone CO detector below deck just to ensure those levels are not too high. |

Jnizi, you might want to check the holding tank vent line and thru hull fitting. I believe the owners manual cautions that if the tank is over-filled, the contents may clog the screen in the thru hull fitting or the vent line itself. |
