I am trying to understand how the 3 charging systems on my boat are set up, and further how they work with each other.

Aside from the alternator and 120v charger, I have a BlueSky solar charger which is set to end the bulk charging at 14.6 volts.

Can anyone tell me what voltage the alternator and 120v charger end their bulk charge at?

Alternator anywhere from 13.5 to 14.5 although will never charge the batteries much beyond 80-90%. 110v charger is most likely a "smart" charger so that will be across the board.

I would go on line and down load the manual on each. Off the engine, use a volt meter with the engine running.

Thanks for the idea for the alternator... I would assume when ever the battery reaches the same voltage as the output the alternator will drop the bulk charge.

As for the 120v charger, I don't know the make or model, and I don't see it on my electrical schematics either.

I will be at the boat this weekend, hopefully I can pull a name off of it.

Cheers.

The smart charger I have at home will bulk charge to 14.6 than drop to a maintenance current.

Alex, my '02 268 has a Guest Charge Pro 2620 battery two bank battery charger. A fully charged 12 volt battery should actually have 12.7 Volts. A battery charger or an alternator should be delivering approx. 13.5 to 14.5 volts to charge a 12 volt battery. A charging system needs this extra 1 to 2 volts to get the battery to take a charge.
