I bought a 1988 245 vista yesterday. it has been winterized since fall of 2013. I believe it is equipped with the OMC 5.7 liter. i tried to start it up yesterday. i used a car battery since it didnt come with batteries. i used a truck battery 12v 900 cca it cranked very slowly but did not turn over. i attached all the hoses but could not find where the two peacocks go. i saw smoke coming from the back of the motor towards the out drive while i was trying to turn it over. Any ideas how i could get this running because i got it for really cheap money and was told before it was winterized that it was running great. the boat as a whole is in great condition. with a little wax and teak refinishing it she will look brand new! I just need to get her running first!
