Post subject:  Cabin floor soaked in 1994 258 Vista

I know there were some previous posts about this a couple years ago. I recently bought a 94' 258 Vista and I love the boat aside from some of the things I have had to fix. The lower cabin floor carpet is constantly wet when the boat is sitting at the marina, particularly after a big rain. I am guessing it gets in from the anchor locker and any other nook or cranny It can find, but why is it not getting into the aft bilge? That bilge does get water, and comes on a couple times an hour (annoying when trying to sleep) but that's fine. I don't know why water is getting stuck forward of that, and I would really rather not rip that floor up. It's the only place I see water. Someone in another post suggested a siphon pump and hoses but didn't describe how to get the water our, when I can see it. Thanks!

I would guess when you are sleeping the bow is low enough to keep the water from flowing to the aft bilge. If you have AC the drain pan could be overflowing into the bilge as well. The rain, well that could come from anywhere but most likely the anchor locker, around port holes, or leaking from the windshield.
I am trying to figure out the same issue on my 2008 258....
Also, the bilge running a couple times an hour is not good. I doubt rain will cause that unless you have a huge hole. You should check your bellows, transom plate, and make sure the cockpit is bailing out the back and not going into the bilge.
