So there's a Vista 298 nearby for sale, and it has a bit of a blemish on the hull. Here's a pic:

Obviously, not entirely just cosmetic.

How serious is this? It's only about 1" wide. How fixable? And how concerned should I be, if I were to buy this boat and have it fixed, that this might be a weak spot and potential source of leaking in the future?

Thanks,

I dont think its serious. just my opinion, though I would act like i thought it was to the seller....lol Supposedly you can fill a hole with 5200 underwater and it will hold, i dont want to try but supposedly. The real question is how long has it been that way. Has it been letting water into the core? Have a survey done!!! Its also hard to tell where that blemish is from your photo

A survey would definitely be done. this hole is right at the corner where the bottom of the hull meets the side, about 1/3 way back from the bow. Coincidentally very close to where an out of water boat stand brace would be located. Im guessing the dealing did this after pulling the boat from the water.
