We have done so by staining the wood on our cabinets. Updated our microwave with a new SS one. On the fridge we re-skinned the door to match the white cabinets. We left the stove alone due to the fact we grill everything outside. Our thought process was for the cockpit to blend in with the cabin. We didn't want our cockpit to look 1996 and our cabin to look 2014.

Welcome to the family . I have a 1998 258 vista and we love it . You will find a wealth of information here . I've added you to my "friends" list . That's how I keep up with other people that have VISTA'S the same year as mine .

I love these ideas!! I am going to measure the current factory microwave and start shopping around... a black/stainless one to match my OEM black fridge would be PERFECT!

Do you have any pictures of the wood you stained? I'd love to see how it turned out.

Also, there is a guy selling a 278 Vista in my neighborhood - I was looking at his craigslist ad and he put up a really cool tile backsplash in the galley, eliminated the stove and put nice tile over the galley countertop - looks GREAT!

I have friends who have changed their curtains and re-covered their cushions in the cabin, both with excellent results. Anybody try that?

We recently completed a reno where we removed the dinette and added more storage w/cupboards. This winter we are going to replace all the remaining doors (I think there are 12?) to match - looks much more like a modern kitchen. We also replaced the stained fabric on the walls with vinyl that matches the headliner - looks so much cleaner and is much easier to wipe down.

I'm trying to post some pics but still having issues. I will try another way and see what happens. We also updated our material to vinyl to match the cockpit and put in blackout curtains.
