I have had an oil slick in the main bilge for a while - couldn't find any drips from either engine or system. So today I set to work giving the bilge a full cleanout. I filled it with some soapy water to where the pump would activate and then opened the drain plug (boat was on a work rack). Did this a few times. As the water level drained out, an oil slick emerged from under the black water holding tank into the bilge. It tool several more fill and drain sequences to clear it all out. I can only think there is a well or depression mid-ship that had a pool of oil in it - and I have finally flushed it out. Anyone else had anything like this? |

Guess not... Are there any oil sources forward of the engine room? |

No sources of oil forward of the engine. My guess is a spill that someone didn't clean up well, or didn't notice it flowed forward. |
