My wife finally got me a 15" flat screen for the 248 vista. I want to mount it on wall that is on the backside of the head. Anyone have any experience installing one and any advice on how to install this would be greatly appreciated.

Like this? This is where the mirror is located but putting it on the wall you are talking about is probably easier. I would pull the CO2 detector and try to figure out what the backing is there by poking around. If I was going to put it there I'd most likely go with an articulating arm mount for the TV. If you want to conceal your wiring there, that may prove to be the most difficult task.

How did you end up making out repairing the aft section that your dog shredded?

LOL, havn't gotten it fixed yet. I am having AC installed this winter and they are going to have to remove the cabinety in the mid cabin to do so. I am going to have them repair the vinyl at that time. I'll let you know how that goes.

I am worried about what I have to attach the wall mount to on that panel. I obviously don't want to screw into the head enclosure. I was hoping someone else has installed a TV there in the past that could give me some advice.

How did you wire the power for your TV in? Did you do it direct or to a plug?

On a seperate note, didn't you add two additional speakers to your deck area? I can't remember who did it but I saw pictures on here of someone who did.

Nice. What kind of a number did you get for the ac install? I thought about it just for the extra resale value. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've seen a TV there before on a 248. That was somebody else who added the speakers.. All I did for the TV was run an extension cord above the cabinet and plugged it into a converter I have up there. The converter simply plugs into the 12V outlet at the countertop. That would be the quickest/shortest/easiest run for you imo. Runs just fine on the inverter.

I think it was around $3,500 installed with 3 year all parts and labor warranty. It's a little on the high side but I know I won't have problems with it.

This is where Four Winns installs the TV in the 248. This way the person sitting on the starboard side dinette isn't blocking the view or has to get a stiff neck to see the TV.

The mount FW used isn't articulated it's a basic steel mount, you can adjust the up/down angle then lock it down. The wiring goes through the upholstry behind the TV and I beleive it routes down the wall, under the compainionway and across to the port side.

killer black light man  Does the bathroom door hit the TV there?

It's actually a blue cold cathode :)

No, there is a braided steel cable on the inside of the door that stops it from hitting the TV, don't know if all the 248's have that cable or if they put that on then the tv option is selected.

I didn't get the cable with mine. Would be nice to have though because the door makes contact with the vinyl on mine right now. haha.. just messing with ya about the blacklight, where did you get the cathode? I'm guessing it doesn't pull much juice? Sorry, not to go OT..

You can fab up a cable or maybe those lanyard cables that the place you ordered your anchor from might do the job, they are stainless. Or that cable might be in the FW parts list, I never looked for it. It basically screws into the backside of the door and inside the shower stall and limits the door's travel.

As for the cathode tube, it doesn't draw much juice at all. It actually came with the boat (previous owner).
