I have a 2015 Vista 275. I know that the boat is to new for anyone to answer this question but can someone tell me how to get in touch with the manufacturer to find out the location of the fresh water pump. After owning numerous boats this is a first. I hear it running between the head bulkhead and the helm area. I checked in any opening I could find or open with a screwdriver. When it comes time to change this pump out I will never fin it with out it running. The boat is laid up for the winter so I thought I should start working on this. I'm convinced that my dealer knows less about his product than I do, any ideas would be appreciated.

I have found that when you ask a question on the Four Winns website, you get a call back from your local dealer. In your case, you have said that your local dealer doesn't know the answer.

So I would try another (larger or better) dealer to ask. I have had at least one technical question answered by InterMarine in Ft Lauderdale, FL (954) 922-5500

My 2007 278 has the pump mounted under the steps going into the cabin. You have to remove the screws just under the lip of the step to remove.

Does your manual show the plumbing routing. Mine does.

The pump on my 2009 278 is in the same place ( albeit plumbed in the wrong way around by the factory !). Likewise, my manual has a schematic indicating the location of various items on the boat. I suspect the 2009 manual is the same as that of the earlier ones, as the wiring is different to that indicated in the schematics.

Edit; I just had a look at the 2014 Owners manual on the FW website; It covers ALL Vistas and as a result offers no specific model related information about equipment locations; as far as the water pump, there are a few drawings but with the caveat "location varies by model ". Maybe you could identify which drawing corresponds to your 275, I couldn't as I'm not familiar with that boat.

Thank you all for your feed back. Back to the subject matter. I checked my manual, not much help there. My fresh water tank is under the helm seat and the steps are an open array, three steps in the open. I picked up an endoscope inspection camera, hope it can see what I can't. In the meantime I will take rpengr's advice and give another dealer a call. My last boat was a Larson which had a number which got me in touch with a real person to answer any questions, sort of got me spoiled.

We have a 275 still at our office that has been sold but hasn't been delivered yet. Let me see if I can access the boat and find the fresh water pump. If that doesn't work I'll call the factory.

Byron:

According to the factory, the fresh water pump in a Vista 275 is located in the center of the cabin floor. If you send me a pm with your e-mail address I'll forward you the schematic or plan the factory sent me.

It's a real shame FW downgraded their owner manuals; they used to be very informative even with wiring schematics. Now they are generic with no model specific details, as far as Vistas are concerned, Maybe they reckon the days of owners doing any DIY on boats are gone ( or rather, the days of dealer only work on boats has arrived!!!!

I guess the manufacturers as well a FW don't want to fund concise manuals or a staff to answer owner questions. If it was'nt for Forums, such as this, and people like Riva Mike who works with a dealership, we could'nt get answers. I'm sure it all has to do with the bottom line.
