While sitting in Florida 3 weeks ago I was hit with a bad case of spring fever. This lead to me listi my 268 Vista for sale.... To make a long story short, the 268 is gone and I am now the proud owner of a 2004 288 Vista with a pair of low hour 5.0L Volvos.

I couldn't be happier! This boat just seems to be bigger in all the right places, while maintaining sporty feel. This boat really scoots with the twin 270hp Volvos.

If all goes well she will be back home tomorrow.

First projects will be to strip and paint the drives, attempt to strip bottom paint, and to preform a good old fashioned polish and Wax.

Cheers

Thanks guys. I will post a pic once I have time to sit at my computer.

I like to keep the boat on a lake close to home during the spring and fall. During summer I will have a slip in Britt on Georgian Bay. We trailered the 268 there most weekends last year, and we are very much looking forward to having a slip this season.

I think there will always be a strong market for the 268. It can be trailered, and has a killer layout. When selling mine I took the same approach as I did when purchasing it. That was to do research... I pretty much looked at every 268 on line, compared options location, hours and price. This allowed me to market the boat at what I think was he perfect price. I had three people seriously interested in the boat. The guy that got it was ready to make a move early in the season so he got it.

I tried to purchase an 04 298 that sold before I could even go see it. The guy who bought it drove about 8 hours north to see it, in the middle of a snow storm. I couldn't believe I lost that boat that early into the season.

The photo of the boat in the water was the day I picked it up, and the one on the trailer was after day one of buffing and cleaning.

The bottom paint that was on the boat mostly came off with a pressure washer. Ther green tape is where I want the new bottom to extend to. I purchased Inteux Shark White paint which is a light grey colour.

This weekend I have put the boat in the water and adjust the trailer. The boat is too far forward and I can't get the drives down all the way. They both need to be pulled for paint and bellows before launching for the season.

This boat was a mess when we got it, but as I clean it up the true condition is starting to show. I am happy to say the boat is in great shape.
