Hi gents,

Today I had a sea trial and survey done on a 2006 288. Found out the ac is not cooling, trim tabs do not work and fridge does not cool. Other than that, it is very clean. The previous owner took immaculate care of the boat. The broker is looking into the issues and we agreed they will be fixed prior to taking possession. One of the hr meters says 967 and the other says 285. The owner says it was because someone left the key on. The surveyor said the computer hrs were 266 and 285.

Any advice?

I'd confirm the fixes before signing any papers. Our current boat had to have new distributor cap and plugs to run correctly, I requested a second sea trial to confirm the boat ran to specs before signing papers. I'd tend to trust the computer hours over the hour meter.

Interesting. They must have left the key on for about 29 days! Must have been a battery charger connected for it to be able to stay on that long.

That is what I was thinking. I hope they have the hour meter unplugged now.
