Yes, water come from screws...
I will check anchor locker, but it is a long way from anchor locker to this cavity...

Hi all ! It is my first post here ! I bought a VISTA 258 (YOM 2005), and very happy ! But, I have a question ... Today I was cleaning my cabin and the shower pump box, but when I removed screws, water began to flow... From where water come from ?? thank you for you help ! All the best Matt |

If it's anything like mine, the shower sump pump had failed, so any water draining from shower into that box was not going anywhere...I Would check the sump pump is actually working in that box...it should be triggered by a float switch (mine was completely full and overflowing as the switch and pump had both failed ) |

My sump pump wasn't working and had similar issues. That sump can get pretty nasty with soap and hair, etc. Depending on how far away the shower or sink are from the sump could be quite a bit of water backed up in the drain hoses. |

+1. Most likely the shower sump is not working. Check the fuse which should be in the fuse panel to make sure you are geting electrical power. I would recommend removing the sump to clean it, and test the float switch and pump motor. A new sump pump assembly with motor and float switch can be bought for approx $130. Make sure you get the right size. A new pump for around $40, and the float switch for maybe $30 USD. Sometimes a sticky float switch can be freed up with hot water, but they are prone to not lasting forever. |

Hi, My sump pump works... I called an official dealer and they told me that I have water inside the double hull. |

Where is the shower sump on the 258 ? Is it below the cabin floor, under a cover? That's where it is on my 2009 278. From memory, it's attached directly to moulded in bosses on the inside of the hull (as is the forward bilge pump the 278 has). It doesn't look like there's a liner there with a cavity between it and the hull. Do you mean that water comes out of the screw holes ? |

Sounds like you have a lot of water in your stringers if you have water coming from the screw holes. Time to check the anchor locker, fresh water tank and/or any other water sources. We had that a few years back and it was water traveling from the stern through the stringers. In our boat, the shower sump is the low point in the hull so water collects from the front and back at this point. One trick we found was to pull the table pedestal mount to see into the hull. Where is the shower sump box ? I can't imagine the set up on a 258 is much different to that on my 278. On my 278 the shower sump box is nowhere near the stringers. |
