| Post subject: | reason for 2nd bilge pump |
on my 1996 238 vista 5.0 sx volvo penta. i have a bilge pump in front of the engine. i was cleaning up the bilge area & noticed this pump is disconnected, the bilge is encased in a plastic box. the pump has a hose coming from forward & the exit hose from the pump is disconnected that goes overboard. their is a bilge pump under the engine which makes sense. the previous owner never said anything about the pump. could it be for the cabin sink or maybe it is for the shower. any suggestions? zif001 |

Sounds like a sump pump that comes from the shower or maybe the shower and bathroom sink combine into one hose that goes into the pump. On my 99 258 this is in the forward bilge. |
