Hello, Brand new member and new Four Winns V275 owner. Not a new boat, 2013. I am hoping I am missing something stupid. All DC stuff works great, however on shore power, I am getting power to the panel (Volts on panel show 120 when I turn on Panel main breaker) but no AC stuff is working, Batt charger, Air conditioner, cooktop, outlets. Nothing. Seems like I am missing a breaker somewhere but that would not explain why there is power to the panel. Could there be a main between the panel and all the AC stuff? No I think not. Any ideas or tips always welcome.

Do you have a generator? Is the generator/shore switch in shore position?

Is your battery switch on one of your batteries (vs. the off position)? On my 248, the battery switch had to be "on" vs. off for my systems to operate on shore power.

I don't know if it helps, and my apologies if you've already read this -- but copied below is the section from the Four Winns Vista owners manual describing the basics of the shore power system. It makes no mention of additional breakers or switches besides the main shore power circuit breaker and the individual ones for each piece of equipment. Also, I looked elsewhere and it made no mention of the battery switch having to be on.

If it stops drizzling around here I'll go out and take a look at our in-stock Vista 275 and see if I notice anything different. Unfortunately, where this 275 is blocked is no where near any shore power/electrical service.

To help track this down -- you mention this is a new-to-you boat. Has your shore power worked properly before or is this the first time you've tried to use it??

All 12 volt equipment is isolated from the 120 VAC
60Hz and the 240/120VAC 60Hz systems with the
exception of the cockpit and galley refrigerators which
are dual voltage. When AC power is supplied by either
dockside power or by the generator and with the
respective main circuit breakers ON, the individual
circuit breakers on the panel provide protection for
that specific equipment’s circuitry (if installed). The
receptacles can be used for 120 volt (230 volts on 50
Hertz - export) household appliances.

I can appreciate the manual making no mention of battery switches, but fact of the matter is, mine needed to be "on" for my systems (air conditioning included) to work on shore power.

Just trying to help and it probably wouldn't hurt to try!

Thanks for the help, I will be out there later this week and will make sure the battery switch is on. Your right, it can't hurt to try it.

I had the boat surveyed and sea trialed but the surveyor was mostly interested I structure, not electronics, plus the boat was on the hard still and didn't really have access to shore power. So I guess, I have never seen it work, but the salesman swears he did. No way a boat salesman would be dishonest. I'm sure it's something minor. DC systems all work great which were tested on the sea trial.

Is there a reverse polarity indicator on the AC panel? Any chance you're getting power but there is an issue with the polarity reversed?

So after looking all through the bilge and tracing wires, I finally called the mechanic. He went to the boat, unplugged the shore power cable, plugged it back in and now he says everything came on. So it’s either a loose connection in my shore power plug, possible bad cable or it is possible I didn’t have the cable tightened enough. Anyway, I will continue to monitor.
Thanks for all the help guys! This is my first Four Winns, everyone who steps on board is amazed how nice it is. Even the mechanic said “man is that a nice boat”!

Are you sure?? That should not be the case. Two different systems.

Maybe I am misunderstanding you.

Shore power (120v A.C.) and battery power (12v D.C.) are 2 different systems. The only thing that links them together is the battery charger. Your battery switches should not need to be in the "on" position for the shore power to work. Yes?
