Howdy everyone.

I bought my boat about a month ago and while I would have loved to just drop it in the water and go it needed a little TLC. It has been a lot of work but I'm finally almost ready to go. Here are some pics for your enjoyment.

Dragging her out of the water and bringing her home.

She had the factory seat covers that were worn, tore and dirty.

I started by scrubbing out the carpets in the cabin and got them nice and clean

When I moved to the cockpit I noticed that the shifter was loose and the vinyl padded panel that held the shifter was broken in a spot. As I started to disassemble other areas of the boat I found a couple pieces of trim in various stages of rot. I decided since I had to repair a couple anyway I might as well change the look of the boat and use finished wood panels instead of vinylized plywood.

The shifter was gray and had UV damage. Being frugal I opted for cleaning it up, blasting it with some black paint and buffing out the sun-faded trigger lock (whatever you call the red thing). I still have to replace the throttle only button boot.
Image

I replaced all of the factory interior trim with the wood.
Image

The original steering wheel was severely sun damaged and was killing the mood.
Image

I called around to get the V-berthing reupholstered but it was both beyond my budget and timeline. I found some vinyl backed canvas at Walmart and with a little help from a friend redid the aft berthing (no pic), V-seats and back rail. Sure its not perfect, but I don't need perfection.

Finally ready to come out of the garage I cleaned and erected the canvas top
Image

I gave everything a good scrubbing and crafted a custom table.
Image

I put the classic mermaid on the bow.

And added her name.

One last thing to do is put her in. Hopefully that happens tomorrow.

Great work, pal! 8)
I'm interested in the table you made - Any more details, please?

Thanks, Chris and Deafwish.

Deaf, for the table I used basic materials. 3/4" plywood and 1/4" oak laminate. I bonded the two woods together with contact cement and cut to desired dimensions. Then I used 1" L shaped edging for the border. Stained with pecan colored outdoor wood stain. The decal I cut using a Silhouette Cameo and a little computer graphic design skill. I finished it with Famowood Glaze Coat for the top and (post-pic) outdoor polyurethane for the edge.
