I would like to do the following: 1.) install a 110 outlet in the aft berth. 2.) install a 110 outlet behind the TV in the cabin (wall between the door and the panel above aft berth). I am replacing the tv there since the crappy 13-15 inch tv crapped out on me. Any suggestions? How does the wiring route? Thanks in advance. |

Not sure on your 288 but I would look for a TV that uses an external power adapter (like a laptop) and has a standard 12V power plug going in to it. I was able to find one fairly easy when I replaced mine. No additional wiring required. Just mounted to the existing mount and plugged it in. Many of the smaller TV's up to 22 inch or so are setup like this. Will save you a lot of grief in re-wiring and also allow the TV to work all the time. |

The cable that is currently being used for the TV is a non-standard 12 volt plug (not the round bullet connector, but a three pronged DIN style connector....at a bare minimum, i'm gonna have to figure out where this cable goes to so I can replace it with a newer standard 12 volt adaptor cable... Nonetheless, even If I'm able to do that and replace the tv....I still need to know how to add 110 plugs since i need to plug my laptop up when in the aft berth. |

I don't have much to say here, except DO NOT use household Romex Cable (solid copper wire). The solid wire will eventually break due to a boats vibrations. Stranded wire must be used (that is appropriately rated for the voltage), and of course tinned marine wire is greatly preferred. |

I installed an inverter in the starboard side locker in the aft cabin, and ran a wire up to the fuse panel. Same route you will take for the new outlet. 1 Pull fuse panel 2 pull back wall from locker that is just forward of aft cabin 3 pull starboard locker in aft cabin It's pretty easy to fish the wire with 2 sets of hands. No clue on the TV. |
