Hi Guys, Can anyone please advise on their actual performance figures using 318 or 328? I'd doing 'next boat fuel budget' and you data will help me size my desire versus budget. Interested in your cruise speed and cruise RPM and engine installed. Any feedback most appreciated. |

'08 318, twin Merc 5.0's with Bravo 3's. 29MPH cruise at about 3800RPM, about 1.2mpg. |

thanks!! That is good speed out of the 5.0's. Didn't know they would push that well. Do you have a speed for 3500rpm ?? |

I think 25 or so. I'd prefer to run at that rpm, but she rides better turning a bit more rpm. |

In reasonable lake conditions we typically cruise at 30 MPH at 3400 RPM. Gave our 328 a brief end of season WOT run two weeks ago and topped out a little over 44 MPH by GPS. We have the twin 5.7 litre, 280 hp engines with Volvo Duo Prop outdrives. |

Interesting...a little basic math shows that both boats should be getting about the same mpg (within 2%): 3800rpm x 5.0L x 2engines / 29mph = 1310 3400rpm x 5.7L x 2engines / 30mph = 1292 (based on other calculations I've done, I would have guessed 1.3 to 1.4 mpg) Ray |

Keep in mind, my numbers are a rough estimate based on what I remember. Typically burning 12/gal/hour per side based on my SmartTach's. 1.1-1.3 depending on how heavy we are (Fuel/Water/Waste) and how much throttle I give her. 3800-3900RPMs is her sweet spot. |

My 288 with 5.0 volvos gets 1.4-1.5mpg @ 3200rpm and 29-30mph. I have a fuel flow meter connected to my chart plotter. I am interested to know what mileage the 328 is getting with 5.7's @ 3400rpm and 30mph. Looks like it might be running more efficient than the 318 with 5.0's @ 3800rpmand 30mph. |

The 5.7s are where it is at. For what was on the market when I bought, I went with the 5.0s. Not bad, but have you ever heard someone complain they have too much power? |

According to the "Fast Fact" specification information posted by Four Winns this is what they state you should expect in terms of fuel consumption for various engine RPM's for the 328 Vista with twin 5.7 engines. FUEL FLOW DATA - 328 VISTA W/ TWIN 5.7GSi/SX / 280 / 209 Engine Speed - RPM Boat Speed Fuel Flow RPM MPH KPH GPH LPH 2000 10 16 10 38 2500 17 27 15 57 3000 26 42 20 76 3500 32 52 25 95 4000 37 60 32 121 4500 42 68 39 147 WOT 45 72 46 174 |

So at 3000-3500 rpm, that is 1.3 mpg |

my 08' 318 with 350 Mag MPI's (300hp) will run at 28mph at 3600rpm, best guess is about 1.2mpg. my previous 07' with 5.7 OSI (280hp) did almost exactly the same. Bottom line, if you really worried about fuel consumption it probably not the right boat. Big cruisers burn fuel |

I own a '00 328 with volvo 5.0GI with F3 blades. In lake conditions, half fuel and water and normal cruise gear, I run at 3000 rpm, 22 knots for 80l/h. Take attention to the trim, which has a big effect on the consumption. |

That's interesting, I didn't look much but the following link for the year 2000 328 Vista did not show an option to have 5 litre engines in the 328? The below link is the only source I looked at, but your 328 has 5.0's from factory? http://www.fourwinns.com/upload/Documen ... atalog.pdf |

Great data thanks guys. Looks like a 318 or 328 may burn about 15% more fuel than the 288 I had with 4.3 fitted. That matches my prior calcs based on FW data and a bit of maths. |
