Post subject:  Leak in Lewmar Hatch

Hi all
with the summer over here the first rains have reminded me of a small leak in my hatch , which seems to enter in the gaps in the below picture (it also happens when carefully washing the boat) and just drip down slowly inside at the rear of the hatch exactly half way along.
is there any problem with SEALING the left and right holes facing sternward shown in the picture...what is their actual purpose..
It feels like if they were sealed , the leak would disappear?
any thoughts appreciated !

I don't have this kind of hatch, but it kind of looks like this is where water should come out? not in.

Here is info from the manufacturer:

Great link..I had no Idea they were in the UK ! easy for me to call them for once with a four winns issue not having the manufacturer in the states :-)
It enters there for sure as that bit is higher (toward the stern) and slopes slightly down towards the bow

useful link though thanks !
