Took my new-to-me 238 out for its maiden voyage yesterday. I love this boat! Previous owner kept it in great condition, especially considering it is a 95. I need to pick up some replacement hinges and those hydraulic Ron's which hold up the engine compartment and the door. Any suggestions on where to find parts like this or are we on our own to figure out generic replacements? Is there a part cross reference list somewhere? Tips and tricks greatly appreciated. Thank you! Joseph |

Have a look at the Four Winns website at http://www.fourwinns.com/ Click on the "Customer Service" link near the top in faint gray letters. On the Customer Service page ( http://www.fourwinns.com/customer-service.aspx ) Have a look at the "Catalogs", the "Browse the Parts Catalog", and the "Owners Manual" links on the right side of the page. The 1995 model is not shown in the Parts Catalog, but the 1996 model is. The "Catalogs" link has a "Fast Facts" section that gives specifications for the model year you select, including 1995 models. There is an Owners Manual for the 1994-2000 238-258-278 Vista models. The Parts Catalog does not include every part, but it does cover a lot. You can also occasionally find a vendor's part number included in the part description. The gas shock struts used for holding car hoods and other lids open normally have a label or part numbers stamped into the barrel. The part number includes a length and a pressure or force rating. |

Congratulations on the Vista! We love our 96. Had to replace the cabin door piston immediately. Took it off and went to autozone. Matched it with a length and force in about 2 min. I think I paid $15 for it and had it on in less than 5 minutes. Pics please, and welcome aboard! |
