Seriously considering adding A/C & reverse heat to my 1997 Vista 278 this year, so sick of the carry on air conditioner and worrying about the space heater catching the boat on fire while we sleep!

Curious - how many BTU's is the A/C in your Vista, and is it enough for the size of your boat? I'm asking every Vista owner here, but if you happen to be a 278 owner of my vintage (94-99), please feel free to chime in!

I have a 10,000 btu/h in my 328 Vista. In the dead of summer high humidity and high 80's temp I need to turn my off at time because it gets too cold in our cabin.
I installed a 5000 btu/h in my 248 Vista and also had no issues cooling the cabin on a scorching hot summer day.

My 258 has factory AC I believe its 5000 btu.. no where near big enough on those really hot day... it will maintain temp but if there are people in the cabin it falls behind. And if you start it too late in the day it won't catch up. Maybe Acguys unit was a better unit on his 248.
The morons at the factory didn't install the main duct properly and it was just about cut off from the decking above. i corrected the issue but it still isn't strong enough.
