i looking for a back up prop. i thinking of going to a four blade. my current three blade is a 14.5 x 19 on a 1996 238 ford 5.0 sx. i am hearing to go down one on the pitch on a four bladed prop. what are you running? z |

I just went through this on my 5.8L 238 vista. I had a 15x17 blade and then I went to a 15x17 4 blade. I definitely picked up some launch torque and it got on plane a little faster. I'm running at 4400rpm at WOT so I ordered a 15x15 4 blade that should be arriving this week to be installed this weekend. I'd look at your max RPM at WOT right now and then adjust pitch accordingly. The good news: props are CHEAP! $100ish. Order from amazon.  JD |
