I just recently picked the boat up it's a 2000

Underneath the lid where aft bilge and air conditioning pump is there are some soft spots also some cracks in the outer layer. I will be able to post pictures tomorrow I'm just wondering what people do to try and stop this ? There is no water in there now it just showed that there was water in there previously

I assume by cracks in the outer layer you mean the outer layer in the bilge. Water has penetrated into the fiberglass and softened it. You should remove all the softened area fiberglass. Re-fiberglass and repaint the bilge area effected. There are a lot of YouTube videos on this or you could look for info in the forums. Good luck

What probably happened is that the wood core that is under the glass absorbed moisture and rotted. You may have to cut out a portion to see how far it goes, then replace the rotted wood and then re-glass. Its a messy time consuming job.
