2004 Fouwinns 328 Vista....

So I found a small leak from the septic system under the aft bed. I cut a hole in the floor (6.5 inch) which I will put an access panel on later.
I found the leaking culprit was a 90 degree elbow.

The confusing part is when I start to trace what this elbow went to.

I always knew the aft bed had a 30-40 gallon holding tank on the port side. I was told (assumed) it was for a grey water system. It even has a tank monitor sensor on it.

However... Upon further investigation, this port tank empties into another tank which is located under the galley floor in the center of the boat.
It too has a tank senor on it.

So from what I under stand, the toilet flushes - which goes to the vacupump in the engine compartment on the port side.
The vacuflush sends the waste to the tank under the aft bed on the port side.
The aft tank empties into the galley tank in the center of the boat.
The pumpout sucks on the galley tank for evacuation of the waste (confirmed)....

Anyone else know why they did this???

The connection between my two tanks is clogged so I am devising a method to unclog the port tank to allow it to drain into the galley tank.
Problem is the port tank is full....
Once unclogged could be a real mess.

But I was curious if I got this correct...
Further - which "holding tank" sensor goes to the monitor? The one on the port tank or the one on the galley tank?

Is there a macerator between the tanks? If not, how does the waste get from one tank to the other?

I recall reading a thread on this on this site about this topic.

Perhaps a search will help you, or someone will chime in to direct you.

Good luck.

You are right. I found the topic as well. Sometimes search keywords are tricky.

I did the same thing as well. Pumped out upper tank manually then ripped it out of the boat.
Took the hose that went to theupper tank, put it on the lower tank, removed the T in the vent line.

About 1 hr job
