Well, a scan tool will be about $500, and the software for a windows laptop (better than tool) is about $700.
When we had ours' scanned, our mechanic had to buy the software, because he did not have one either.
A bit more than I'm interested in spending. If I pull the ECM out of my boat and ship it, do you think your mechanic would be willing to read it for me (I would pay for his time of course)?
If you are willing to pull your ECM from your boat and assuming it can be properly read out of your boat, is there not a marina within a reasonable drive from your marina, home or work that could read the ECM for you instead of shipping your ECM to the US when are are in Ontario, Canada?
Mike.
