I found a 06 278 at a very fair price. It’s a little dirty but nothing I can’t handle. I have an 01 248 now. After walking the 278 I almost feel like there is more room on my 248 in the cockpit area. I don’t like or want the sink, it just infringes on the space. I have replaced almost everything motor included on my 248. It’s just starting to age. So I started to look into updating. Upholstery needs some repair and other minor stuff. The cockpit area is more important to me than the cuddly. I feel like all the room is gained in the bow. It’s such a tough decision to spend that much more money and not gain much cockpit space. Any input?

It sounds like you already know the answer!

If you need to be convinced, it’s likely not the boat for you.

Our 268 had a nice open feel to it... no sink, lots of room.

If you don’t plan to trailer, the 288 and 298 have plenty of room without getting too big / expensive.

268 was my original choice when I started looking. Last year they made them was 05. So I started looking for a little newer. 278 was the replacement I also looked at the 288 but they step up to 2 motors and harder to trailer. Long term I would like a 288/298 but not ready for it yet. Guess I’ll either stay where I’m at or shop for a last model 268. Thanks
