Hi all, my 248 has bit of a sticky tacho. If you tap it it jumps into life. T he dealer said he looked into replacing but the surround was a different colour so left it - he was told that apparently its down to lack of use and would probably rectify itself. I'm keen to get it working just so i can work out my optimum fuel efficiency speeds and all that. Does anyone have any thoughts on the tacho - can thy be stripped or best leave off like he says? Thanks Nicksten |

I have a sticky tacho too. Very annoying and hasn't rectified itself like some people say. I haven't tried it yet but sometimes there is an adjustment on the back for different engines. Someone advised if I change that setting and change it back it might rectify. |

Thanks babbot, I'm on the boat this weekend so will have a look. Presume its just surround off and follow your nose? |

They will; I set one to them a few years ago. I did post it to them when on holiday in the US. The price Faria charged included shipping back to the UK. I was a new tacho they sent. No problem with customs here etc as it was classed as warranty replacement. If I remember correctly, the shipping cost from the UK would have been significant. Worth checking first. |

Every year or so I have to fix. Remove the dash panel so you can get to the back of the tach. There is an adjuster for different engines (4, 6, ![]() The problem is the contact corrodes over time/winter. |
