My 2011 windlass is extremely difficult to get at. Yes, the mirror moves easily and the access plate gives a good view of the chain locker. But, I really can't see how to reach the solenoid, which is the problem. The only thing I can think of now is that I may have to remove the entire thing to get at the wiring. There is a small rectangular plate right in front of windlass, on the deck but not sure what that would do in terms of access.

Next, I can't find a fuse of circuit breaker anywhere, which is curious as the manual clearly states there should be one. Can't imaging Fourwinns wouldn't have installed it that way.

Anyone have any experience?

Regards,

Greg

The windlass circuit breaker on my 2009 278 Vista is on the main battery switch panel. Seems a sensible place to nave it,, very close to the batteries so it protects the cables as well as the solenoid/ windlass.

Which boat model do you have?

My boat is 2011 V335 but the model change year, came with a V318 manual. I want to verify that it's not a breaker problem before I have to take the entire windlass out to get at the solenoid. In their lack of wisdom they place the element most likely to fail out of reach to not 1 but 2 access panels.

What’s it doing now?

Here is a similar set up for your boat (I believe)you can see where the cut out is for the windlass on the lower right side

Thanks, I'll look agin early this week. Finding it will be my task. Reaching the solenoid will be the next hurdle. I've been distracted on my last cruise by multiple vessel view alarms that activated engine guardian but listed no active alarms, but I digress.
