Post subject:  New to a 268! Question on the fridge!

I’m back to vista boating! My 95 238 was nice but a little cramped. Fell in love with a prestine condition 2003 268 And had to have it. The vinyl is in perfect condition which makes it look that much nicer.

Just so excited to be back in a vista!

My first question (and I haven’t tried search yet but will if nobody knows): If I run the Norcold fridge on batteries, how long will the batteries last? I’m thinking about a 3-day weekend afloat... I have the generator but would have no shore power. So how do I keep the batteries charged enough and the fridge running? I’ve never been away from shore power for that long.

Thanks in advance!

How long the fridge runs depends on the size of the house battery bank, the outside air temperature, the temp setting of the fridge, how much else is running on the 12 volt house system, etc. If you are using the generator for a while in the evening, I would think that even a modest sized battery would keep the fridge running all night. I don't have an onboard generator, but I have 2 100 amp hour Group 31 batteries. We have had the fridge and a squirrel cage fan (through an inverter) run all night with plenty of reserve.
