Should be similar to the 318. Cabin fabric and cockpit vinyl changes. I believe in 2009 the cabin door switched to a black, see through door vs the white. I am not a fan of the see thru door.

Your best bet is to look at the past catalogs on Four Winns website and boats listed for sale.

So we have the 2007 version and not much has changed over the years from what I have seen. I believe they changed from Clarion to Sony for the stereo package in the 2008+ models. We have the white door. The helm is very similar and it depends on what electronics package was selected if you got the C Series or E Series chart plotter. We do have the folding arch, which is great for storage.

Good points - in '08+ I know it had a separate stereo for the cockpit and cabin - each having their own. I'm not sure if '07s had one or two. On the newer ones with the "hardtop" - it's fixed and not folding, might make for transport issues.

We love our 338, the best boat I ever owned. The 258 was nice when the kids were smaller and we added the wake board tower for water sports. It was no Mastercraft but my son was able to wakeboard without a problem.

The 338 gives us the room and comfort to travel/vacation on the boat as well as entertain. With its size, it is great on Lake Michigan as well as the Illinois River and narrow waterways.

We looked at Sea Ray and Crusier but without going broke, we have not been able to find anything else that fit our style of boating as well as the 338.

I don't think they made too many 338s. I have the Mercury Bravo3 w/ DTS drives and Volvo Bow Thruster (the top picture). I do like having the extra maneuverability with the bow thruster in case of wind or tight quarters. Just get used to people yelling "Cheater".

If memory serves, the Axius System - joystick (bottom picture) was just starting to make it into boats like the 338 around 2008-2009 so you will find various versions. We had a friend who owned a 358 with Axius and it was like playing a video game to dock. A very nice upgrade for sure.

I think that the bow thruster was only an option in the 338 for 2007.

If you are anywhere near the south end of Lake Michigan during boating season, contact me.

If you can swing a 358....do it. You'll appreciate the added space. When I bought my 318 there were maybe 20 on the market in the US..only 5 or so 338s. I think jnizi is spot on, they made a whole lot less!

Looking at BoatTrader right now, there are 4 of the newer 338s, 10 358s and 13 318s. All the same basic hull, just bigger. Can't go wrong with any of them, IMO.
