I have a 248 Vista ad was wondering if anyone has ever considered installing a second portlight window in the aft cabin. Specifically, the aft bulkhead side. I would really like to install one there for better ventilation. Any thoughts?

That's a dang good idea! it would let more natural light in, way more ventilation... I see no reason why it could not be done!

You do it first and post the photos then I will add that to my list! :)

In my 248, there is removable piece that in runs the beam of the cabin and covers the bulkhead from the inside of the midcabin that's about 2 inches thick. I could forsee that being an issue, but if you figure out a way to make it work, more power to ya.

I pulled that paneloff yesterday on thought the same thing. We will see if I can come up with a solution. Any news on the ac install? My unit should be here by the end of the week. Hopefully I can start the install this weekend

No word from the mechanic yet. he's going to have my boat for about three weeks so we'll see. I REALLY hope he can get it installed. This guy is reputed as one of the best boat mechanics in central Indiana. (not that there is that many to pick from). I want to get my boat back to take some pics though of the kick a$$ stereo upgrade I did. I was really impressed with how it all turned out.

If I wasn't going to Italy April 10th thru the 20th, it would be splashing in 2 weeks.
