Any guesses????? ![]() ![]() Sorry for the crappy cell pix, I am down a friends right now and just had to post these. I will post the good one's later! Bear in mind that this is just laying on the deck and just came out of a shipping tube so they need to lay out and flatten out. The fit is awesome! I HIGHLY recommend anyone who wants to do synthetic teak, please give Travis at TT Custom Marine a shout! |

http://www.ttcustommarine.com/ Travis is THE man for synthetic teak! I have nothing but the absolute best to say about the man and his buisness! And the price is drastically better than what Four Winns wants for Flexiteak. |

How much better on the priceing...I know there has been debate on the material getting dirty and being too hot, but I think the look is fantastic...I have seen that company before but did not compare pricing...the interior options (teak and holly) look pretty nice too. Did they have templates for your boat already or did you have to measure?? JB |

Joe, I did all the templates. Travis did not have a template for the 248 so I was the guy who made the templates a reality. Now any 248 owner can get just the platform or the whole cockpit done ![]() My price was very reasonable, but I don't want to step on anyone's toes so it's best to email or call Travis and see what the regular price will be. I'm sure it will be less than the $1400.00 Four Winns wants for the piece of flexicrap (and that doesn't even come with adhesives). |

Love the Flexiteac; our 248 just arrived she is still shrink wrapped; the delivery is scheduled for April 19. I have attached a photo showing the factory option. I must say I like your black grout over the white that ours came with. ![]() |

Supposedly the white retains less heat. Lord knows the black gets hotter'n hell. |

I am sure the white will help reduce the overall temperature (and it looks good), wonder how easy it will be to keep clean (just the white seperators). I bet you are excited to get your mitts on that 248! I remember when I bought mine, I couldn't sleep that whole week! |

We are counting down the minutes until she is in the water!!! I have down loaded the manual and read it several times cover to cover. I have complied multiple check list to aid us with all of the procedures, so in our excitement we will not overlook even the smallest detail. As for the platform the dealer states that it is easy to clean, just wash it down; we shall see. As for the heat aspect, I would imagine that the brown coloring itself would absorb its share of BTU’s. There is not much to see as I had previously stated she is still in shrink wrap but I will attach what photo that I have of her. ![]() ![]() |

White or Black Grout in your Flexiteak? Man I would love to have your guys' worries, that is a sweet frickn boat. Ahhh, I would agonize over it also . . . who am I tring to kid? I think what kills me more is the money its costing me to live on the water somewhere its rare to burn my pale white hoofs even on ashphalt let alone my swim platform! If I order FlexiTeak could I get heated FlexiTeak ![]() |

As was stated earlier FlexiTeak (the brand) added white seperators after complaints of the decking material getting too hot. Of course when some people took it upon themselves to do scientific studies, it turns out real teak runs the same temperature in the sun as the synthetic and some guys wouldn't be without teak on a boat. I wanted synthetic teak ever since I stepped foot on a 348 at the dealer that had it. Of course at the time it had black seperators and black seperators is what I ordered. The white looks really classy but I wonder how the clean the strips will stay long term. The good thing is you can power wash it! One of my main reasons for teak was to get rid of the blasted, dingy white non skid, no matter what I do I can't keep it clean! Bob, Thanks for sharing the photos! Can't wait to see the new toy with her shrink wrap off ![]() |

I've got a laser temperature sensor (yet another gadget) and will see what it actually reads this summer. |

Bill, The post I am speaking of is on a boat building forum. I will post the link later, it's a really good read! And covers all the different types of synthetic deck materials. They did not post the results of the thermometer test but I can do that this summer if you wish... I should be able to find a boat with real teak without breaking a sweat. |
