I have a 2005 Vista 288. I need a new canvas piece that goes from the radar arch to the windshield. Does anyone know where I can purchace this piece, other than going to the dealer? Thanks!!! |

If it is the piece that I am thinking of there will be snaps that also need to be added to the canvas; each boat is a little different and the snaps are custom installed to match the boat. There are several Sunbrella dealers in Florida, I have included a link. You can find a dealer close to your location http://www.sunbrella.com/na/en/marine.pl Select “Where to buy” |

Most of the FW canvas is made by an outside company, Great Lakes Boat or something similar? The canvas usually has a tag on it that they tell you to save. The part number on it would let you order another from the maker. But I'd venture a guess you could call them and they'd be able to look it up for such a recent model year. What happened to the other one? Get lost over the winter? heh. |

No I didn't loose it over the winter, I live in Delray Beach Florida. It looks like there are some spots where it's starting to look a little thin, as I leave it on all the time. It's not really canvass it's some sort of tyvek plastic. Thanks for the reply.... |

Cigarman, It's called "Isenglass" or "Strataglass" it's a clear vinyl. As mentioned earlier you could go to the third party vendor who supplies Four Winns (Great Lakes I beleive, I would have to check my tags) they may not sell direct, you may have to go through FW. Or you can take the piece to any reputable canvas shop and they can fabricate a new piece, using the old as a template. |

Almost all the canvas pieces back to 98 are available from Four Winns.I got a price for the 3 aft pieces of mine last week from the dealer. They were 600.00 for all three. Mine has a few tears in the sunbrella and the screens or ripped. My local canvas shop wants a few dollars more to make them. If you get them you do need to put on the snaps. |

I had my local sunbrella dealer install new screens and isinglass in the 3 back pannels of the camper canvas last fall for $250ish. Way cheaper vs. going through FW. Also if you have to have snaps match current snap location on the boat, you have to have the snaps fitted/placed on new piece of canvas on the boat. So you might as well take the boat to a canvas shop vs. dealer. |
