Hi Guys/Girls, I purchased a new 2008 Vista 288 last week, although its cooling down here I look forward to getting out on Sydney Harbour this weekend. Hope to learn a lot from this forum too. I have enjoyed reading a lot of your posts already but have trouble understanding your winterising issues. I just find it hard to comprehend that you have such limited time to use your boats.
look forward to reading and learning more.

Welcome Kinkster and congratulations! I have lived in the northeast my entire life and I too find it hard to comprehend that we have such limited time to use our boats. But boy, do we enjoy them.

Good to have you on board!

Congrats on the new boat. I wish we had a longer season, but we do get quite a bit of use out of our boats in 6 months.

Hi and thankyou for the warm welcome.
I will post pics soon, colour is white with blue stripe, not my prefered option as I would have prefered the same as Bills, all white, but I had ordered a 278 and this boat arrived shortly after, which the dealer had ordered on spec, had all the options I wanted, genset, Aircon(except didnt have the teak swim platform)and the twin Seacore 5 litres(I was going to get the single 8.1 Volvo in the 278 with the Ocean Drive as a special order as I wanted Freshwater cooling) So I bought this instead for a lot more money than I had planned to spend:)
So far I have done 8 hours in it, two testing/trials, then drove out of Broken Bay(north of Syney Harbour as the dealer is located in Pittwater, Sydney Power Boat Centre)and down the coast to Sydney Heads on Friday last, weather was lousy and dark, 2 metre swell plus a metre of chop on top, so I took it slowly until I got back inside Sydney heads and safety of the Harbour. Getting the dinghy fitted today, a 2.7 zodiac rib. looking forward to the weekend, and also more stories on here.
Many thanks Robbi

Hi John, I havent been up that way for many years(early eighties)but I do remember the good weather and big tides. Furthest I go north these days is Noosa as we have a holiday house there. We had a great day out on the harbour today, first day of sunshine after 12 consecutive days of rain. absolutely glorious sunshine about 25 C.

Hi Robbi,

I was out today, stunning day, water temp is still not too bad

Congrats on the new purchase, is this your first boat? Where do you keep it? You will be very happy with the four winns product.

I have a 2005 sundowner 205 which we regularly launch at apple tree bay

Here is a pic of our boat at Hallets Beach, be sure to post some pics

Regards Scott

Hi Scott thanks, no Ive had quite a few boats, mostly sailing boats, last one was an S&S 39(similar to Swan) but this is the bigest power boat Ive owned. I keep it at Balmain, although It was up your way where I picked it up at Bayview. The 205 looks like a nice boat, Is that a Vista 278 in the background?
Cheers Robbi

Robbi,
I think the boat in the background is a older model Searay or maybe rare in these parts a rinker?
Still keen to see some pics of your boat

Regards Scott

Looks good, i saw one like it at the akuna bay boat show, but it had the navy classic colour band with red pin and boot stripe as yours has.

It will be interesting to know how the seacores hold up
