Hi, everyone. Not sure if anyone will remember, but, I was "hanging" around the board last October and had a couple of questions concerning your experiences with the Four Winns V348/358 range.

Well, I have finally decided to get moving and buy a boat. :D

I have pretty :? much decided to buy a 2003 V348 with approximately 150 hours Volvo Penta 320's. Does anyone have any history w/ this particular model/engine? What questions should I be asking about the boat other than the general hours on engine, salt vs. fresh water, etc...?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Five years old and only 150 hours? That's a bit low. Perhaps low enough to be a boat that was neglected enough to have problems. Stuff like hoses rot out whether you're using them or not. Five years might not be enough for real trouble but it's certainly something to go over with a fine-toothed comb point of view. If only to negotiate a better price on it because of the likely services required. You can't go wrong getting a full survey done on it, make the sale conditional pending outcome of a professional survey by someone not affiliated with the seller. But this is just generic advice for buying any boat, not just that year/model.
