Has anyone replaced these? How do i get to them?

I was hoping there would be an easy way to pop of the fabric grill but I can't find anything. If anyone can shed some light on this, it would be much appreciated.

I had the same problem and ended up leaving them in.

You have too reach behind the fabric covers and unbolt them, there are three thru bolts holding the covers on. If I remember right, its a 3/8 nut. Once nuts are off its still a Bear too carefully remove covers to expose speaker.
I replaced speakers in cabin when I did entire system upgrade.

Thanks Powell!

Are they 6.5 inch speakers or 5.25?

Powell or anyone else who has done this....

Are there only 2 bolts? What tool did u use to get this out? I can not get the one that is up on the top with anything.
Also what makes it a bear to take out after the nuts are off?

There were 3 on mine. Yes its a bear to get them out and once you have the speakers replaced, its a bear to put the fabric covers back.
You have to bend the board in front of the cover to make room for the fabric cover to come forward. It takes a little time and effort for this project for sure!!! :?

The only tool I used was a 3/8 open/box end wrench to loosen the nuts.
Then once the covers were off, a phillips screw driver #2 for the screws holding the speaker.

Couldn't you just cut the fabric out in the size of the speaker, unscrew the speaker, remove it, replace with new speaker and mount the speaker grill over the hole that was cut in the fabric? It would not look stock, but very few speakers in the cabins have the cloth covers on them now anyway.

It would look similar to Als' installation, without the custom wood.

I don't remember if the hole in the cover is larger than entire mounting area of the speaker, if so, cutting a hole in fabric would work, if not, you would still have to remove fabric cover. IMHO, taking covers off was a bear, but not that bad that I would butcher fabric and have shotty install job. But that is just me.
