Ok. I swear I hadn't been drinking when this happend, but we were full of crap (i.e. needed to pump out) and we went and evacuated our waiste. At our marina, you have to have your own threaded fitting for the pump out. Well, I am still working out the early season cobwebs and I somehow, someway, lost our fitting. Not sure how, but I did. Poof, Gone. Does anyone know the size and thread pattern that I need for the 2002 248 Vista?

Can anyone tell me what the hell my dumb a$$ did with the fitting I had? I'd really like to know.

I don't know the answer to your question I am actually looking for the answer to this question myself so I can unload my crap. Note there are two ends (and measurements) you'll need for this adapter.

You need the size of your fitting on your boat and the size of the pump.

My 248 has the 1 5/8 fitting. It's a 2000.

This is my first boat with a pump out and I did not know that I was required to carry the pump out adapter. If it's true that you need one that not only fits our boat but must also fits the pump out nozzle, that limits you to using the same station over and over.

Looks like another trip to West Marine

This is the only Marina I have ever been to that you need to have your own adapter. Most places have a universal nozzle that doesn't thread. Our marina (who will screw you at every opportunity) feels that everyone must carry their own. I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to carry one just in case. Althought the parts that threads into the boat are different, the nozzle that attaches to the pumpout I believe are fairly universal.

i go to two marinas.

1. I have to pay 5 bucks to borrow their adapter and pump.

2. The other one requires me to have one.

Either way i am screwed

I am 90% sure it's the course thread. The fine threaded adaptor is much flatter and does not look like it will fit.

A buddy of mine made an adaptor for his Crown Line with PVC and a rubber seal. He has real tight clearances because of his bimini and got tired of taking it off all the time. Let me know if you want me to ask how he put that together.

I believe that they are concidered course threads, 11.5 threads per inch with a 1-7/8 inch OD. Here are a couple photos of the package and unit. I bought mine at west marine.

This may help someone out as well. I have also installed a Macerator pump (Jabsco) with a Diverter valve (jabsco). Because I am a trailer boater, if I choose to not wait at the marina to pump out because of a line of boats, or boat at a lake without pumpout facilities, I can stop at any RV dump station on the way home and pump tank out.

FW has already pre-wired for Macerator pump and has switch in head to turn it on. All I had to do was hook it all up.



I made a base plate to mount to bulk head in bilge to hold valve above fuel lines. Also have 25-30 feet of 1" line to reach RV dump.
