Hi !
My 288 smells after each time we use it . It's that hot bilge smell which is ok for bilge , but I can smell it in the forward cabin . Drives me nuts ! I try to keep bilge clean . Do I have to scrub the bilge after every use ? :( Any one else ? Any fixes ? Try to seal off the cabin ? Thanks for your input !

Hmmmmm. Not really sure what is causing it from your description. No problems with that smell in ours after 7 years. Yours should not be that way either. I have scrubbed the bilge only once, and it has never needed it again.

Bilge smells have to come from somewhere. Eliminate the source. Finding it is the trick. There are products like Bilge Bully that help clean it. But also make sure it's not coming from the waste tank. Look at the tank and the hoses, checking for smells, discoloration or other dirt.

Run a bleach/water mixture through all your grey water lines and into the forward (shower sump) bilge. Make sure it's clean as well. I know my shower sump gets muched up all the time.

Thanks !
The smell only shows up after engines are running . It's nothing dramatic but I don't like smelling engines in forward cabin . There is no smell after I clean the bilge . Oh well , I will have to keep that bilge clean !
Thanks again !
