Has anyone added a spring (like in the dinette) to hold up the cabinet door in the side of the V288 Aft cabin? I was thinking of adding one, but I will need to find one or talk to the FW dealer about ordering it. It is a pain to use sometimes without being able to prop the door open.

I also ordered blinds to copy the modification that jvalich did. It should be in at Home Depot this week.

Thanks in advance
Bill

Hi Bill, not sure what/where you mean? If you mean the sliding cabin door, ours has a latch that flips over 180 degrees and stops door from closing. Also could you post more info on the blinds and where to get them/price etc?
Thanks Robbi

kinkster it is the small storage area on the starboard side of the aft cabin it has a cabinet door that is maybe 5" tall and 40" long.

I ordered some Bali wood faux blinds from Home Depot for just under $70 for the area below the dinette cabinets between the speakers (starboard side). It was tough to decide on a color so I brought in one of the draws. Once it is done in a few weeks I will post rge picture.

Thanks Bill

Thats a very good look Bill. Excellent colour match too! You dont happen to remember the size do you, save me going back down to the boat to measure. Also how did you go with the cupboard spring?
Cheers Robbi

kinkster,

It measures 42 1/4" wide by 17" tall. I ordered 42" x 21".

I haven't asked my dealer yet about the spring. I will have to do that soon.

How are things going for you with you boat?

Hi Bill thanks.
Yes everything is good, we even went out on the weekend in the rain( long weekend here for the Queen of England) We have had a few minor issues , like the forward bilge pump got stuck on(faulty float switch replaced by dealer)water pump switch stopped working(dealer fixed it cables behind came loose) but all minor stuff. I am really happy with the boat as its big enough for mostly the wife and I and one other couple or my 18 yo daughter. Even the fuel economy has been surprisingly good as most of the time we are going below 20kts. The AirCon heating works really well, although we dont have your cold extremes here :D The big hit is the electric barbeque on the rear platform, its a winner as its the pefect place to cook for us and very efficient, being electric we dont have to run the Genset for long. By the way did I notice teak on your swim platform on one of your pics? if so how do you find it?
Cheers Robbi
