I haven't been able to tackle my two main projects yet due to weather. I was at least able to get this small project done this weekend. This is the Powerwinch RC30 from Carefree of Colorado. It's a 11,500lb pull free spool out, power in, winch which is remote controlled and also has a built in docking light. The kit came with a wire harness that I ran from the battery of the truck, along the frame rail and out the back bumper. The harness was JUST long enough to reach the winch with no extra left over.

I do plan on installing a pair of male/female AMP connectors onto the harness at the bumper so I can completely remove the wire from the truck. Right now I have the harness secured to the receiver's safety chain loops with a velcro wire strap. It works but it's not the ideal setup.

Sure hope this thing doesn't jam up on me!

That looks like a really nice unit. I had mine jam up on me last season, that wasn't fun!!

Did you have a manual one jam up? Rope, Strap or Cable?

I am worried about this one since it does not have a roller fairlead. I don't plan on spooling much more off than I have to, and I will still drive the boat most of the way on the trailer.
