I have a new charger installed and am wondering how I should leave the battery switches on my 2004 288 when it is in hi and dri storage. I am on the boat 2X per month so it is in storage much of the time.

I have been setting the engine start switch and the ships systems switch to off when leaving the boat to ensure that no on-board systems drain the batteries.

After three weeks of non-use recently, the batteries needed to be jumped and then performed fine after being connected to shore power overnight.

Will the charger work if the batteries as well as the refrig/charger breaker is set to off? I guess not.

Thanks,

Jay

Jay, you can set the engine and house systems to off (switches behind the seat cushion) and still charge the batteries. In order for the battery charger to work when on shore power the main breaker and the Charger/Ref circuit needs to be on in the cabin panel.
