Have had difficulty shifting forward to reverse since we got our V348. Port is worse than Starbord.

We don't have the electronic control (unfortunately).

Is this a cable lube issue? If so, how do i lube the transmission cables?

.........doing a bit of research is seeming to indicate that there may be a cable alignment issue

Check both ends of the cable housing to ensure that the housing is secure on each end. This means at the throttle quadrant and at the outdrive. If possible (and this probably means having the boat out of the water) you might disconnect the cable at the outdrive to see if it moves freely. I had hard shifting on my 268 Vista with 5.7 and Volvo DP-SM a few years ago. Eventually, it stayed in gear even tho I tried shifting to FWD, Neutral, and Reverse. I found that the bracket that holds the cable housing to the throttle quadrant had been loose for a while (causing the hard shifting) then became disconnected causing it to stay in gear. If both ends of the housing are secure, then make sure the cable itself is secure at both ends and adjusted properly.
