Hi all. New here, bought a 1992 Vista 285 a few months ago. Finally stepped out of the little 18-19 foot open bows.
After searching for an affordable but nice boat for about a year, landed on this one.
It's older, but documented 600 hours on each engine, solid, exceptionally good shape.
This has been an incredibly fun boat, and while solid, does have some small issues I am working through. Already nailed the windlass issue to the relays having gone out, replaced much of the cabinet edges with new formica edge banding, tuned the twin 5.8l Cobras, fixed a potable water leak and new hinges on the hatches.
Refrigerator needs replaced, finally found the potable water pump and ordered a replacement.
Other than that, she is complete.
So far, this is great out on the Sacramento Delta. I'm sure I will be relying on this groups experience as I upgrade and do the basic maintenance on this.
I have almost committed to her name, big Cabernet fan, so I think Cabernet and Cruiser just naturally names her CabNCruiser.
