Ok so my 21 yr old Garmin GPSMAP180 on my 268Vhas finally bit the dust, and i am in the market for a replacement. Those knowing the dash of a 268 what model would you recommend? 21 yrs out of my Garmin has me leaning to them again, but the market has changed so much over the years im not really sure what mfgr or model to go with. I havent followed marine navigation in a while.

Currently boat around coastal waters of FL, I will run off shore maybe 50 miles to occasional fish.

Current unit id mounted on right of dash, between cupholder and trim gauge.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

There are many great choices on the market today. Decide what brand you want and how large. I do recommend a sonar/chart plotter. Virtually all will be a color display. I have a Lowrance HDS-8. I mounted mine in the same area and angled it about 30 degrees toward the captain. It does partially cover the far right gauge, but we deal with it. I do recommend a fuel flowmeter connected to it. The chart plotter can display fuel flow per hour, miles per gallon, and total fuel used. This is helpful at the fuel dock...

Good luck with your choice!

Thank you SI.

I went to WM yesterday afternoon and looked at the Garmin Echomap UHD 74. I think that might the direction i go.

Do you have any pics of your setup?
