I have a 2008 358 Vista with the 5.7 OSi- engines, i can't find any info on Volvos website if ECU's output NMEA 2000 to allow either install of a new ST70 or connection to the C-80 to show mainly GPH fuel usage. I would have thought that a new EFI engine would have this output. If so does anyone know of the cables required and how makes them. I have installed the Through hull to the galley sink drain, you only have to remove the curved cup sliding sink draw, and have long arms, i did not bother with T to the existing bilge drain, i just capped that hose, now i can be sure that when i cook i have no worries with bits of waste, wont sit and rot in the shower drain. If anyone from Four Winns is reading this please do this as standard, or install a diaphram type shower drain pump that can not get fouled.

Thanks

Sean

Hey Sean... I am thinking of doing the galley sink through-hull for next season. How far below the rub rail did you drill the hole?

On interfacing the Volvo engines, you need a J1939 gateway to convert the info to NMEA 2000: http://maretron.com/products/j2k100.php
You need one for each engine. The problem with interfacing with the Raymarine gear (I added the ST70 and have the E80) is that the engines need to each be assigned an "instance" of 0 or 1 so the display knows how to interpret the distinct data from each engine - both engines come assigned as '0.' This cannot be done with the Ray equipment so you will need an installer with the right software or you might consider a Maretron display instead: http://maretron.com/products/dsm250.php (they can assign the engines).

I love the ST70 but for now I have to live with data from just one engine until I can find someone with the right gear to "assign" my engines. From what I've read about the Maretron display (after the fact), it is much more capable. Or you could simply install a Lowrance fuel flow instrument as Bill K. has on his 348. You'll find details in the 348/358 thread.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.
