I noticed steering was really hard yesterday so I checked my engines and I noticed the starboard engine is has its belt loose and its coming off.
Is the power steering powered on one or both engines?
I have a spare belt, should I change just the belt or should I change the tensioner as well?

What year and model of boat and engines? Not sure I can be much assistance, but that info should help others. Compare the front of both engines. Does one engine have an accessory such as a power steering pump that the other one doesn't? While you are checking things over, check the power steering pump fluid level. You should be able to put a wrench on the belt tensioner and pull it to see if there is a moderate amount of tension. I suppose there is a specification, but I don't have it. If the belt was coming off or is not looking good, change it. You might try using a yard stick or other straight edge to try to compare pulley alignment from one pulley to another. A significant misalignment would indicate an alternator, power steering pump, tensioner, or water pump is lose or worn. With the belt off, you might try moving or wiggling pulleys to see if something is loose. Verify all components rotate or spin freely. If they seem good, maybe it was just a belt that was going bad. You could install the new belt and run it to see if it acts up again. Hope this helps.

Both engines have PS pumps, only one is used. The other should have fluid but not hooked up to anything.
