Hello all,

I'm a newbie, so please excuse all my rookie questions.

I just became the owner of a 2000 248v. The boat is great, but the one thing I would like to do is get more room to stand while driving the boat. My boat has the double wide helm seat that slides about 6'' front and back.

Has anyone replaced this seat with a bolster seat? How hard was it? Where did you get the new seat?

Thanks!

I have a 200 268 Vista with the exact same problem. Newer models came with the split-style bolster seat. You can find the part# on the Four Winns website and apparently order it from them. I'm sure it is expensive and I do not know if it will swap out with the original seat without modifications. I was considering having a vinyl cushion made with velcro straps to fit ovet the helm seat. It wouldn't give more front to back room but it would at least give you something to lean on and sit so to see over the windshield. I gave the dimensions to a upholstery shop and they quoted me about $150.

I sit on a white throw cushion on ours when I need to see over the windshield. Cost was $12.

Like this.

I took a look at the parts website and it appears a 2001 248 has a flip up bolster. I wonder if that would work on a 2000.

Anyone with a 2001 248 out there that we can use to compare with?

Thanks!
