68,400 for a 248? Really? That seems kinda high, doesn't it?

MSRP on a loaded 08 248 was 109K now granted that's inflated as all MSRP's are.. but out the door? "new" I'm guessing that boat went for 80 before we wound up here...

Yeah - you are probably right.

That is a heck of a discount.

Somebody go pick it up!

Not bad. Although get this, I paid 23k for my '04 225 Sundowner in May. We would love to move up to a cruiser since my wife loves sleeping on the boat (We were afraid she wouldn't be able to, she still has a fear of water). I found an '04 248 for sale in Chicago, that he got offered 22k for it and wanted to know if I was seriously interested. I would be, but I can't sell my boat in this market. One just like it was on eBay twice, and no bids at 25k. Heck, mine had no bids at 25k back in May. I know a '00 248 was marked down to 25k from starting at 33k at Grand Sport Center in Chicago, until it sold.

I am brand new to this site. P&L has 2 of them. My wife and just bought a Vista 248. Best part about it is that Ray usually loads these boats with most of the options. Stinks that we have to wait until Summer.

Yep my 248 was loaded out too... LOVED dealing with P&L , Ray, Ed and Monte... If my next boat is a FW, it will be from them!

P.S: Welcome aboard fellow Pittsburghian :)

I asked around with people around the docks before I went there. Everyone had great things to say about them. So far so good.

68k seems way high to me as well!

Last year I was at my FW dealer look at an '07 278 loaded, for 80k. Maybe its just me, but for 12k ish difference there is no way I would go with a little 248!
Don't get me wrong I love our 248, but would love even more to have a radar arch and bigger boat, onboard gen set, ect...

I really don't even want to guess what my boat is worth today.

Amazing how things change in a year.. You wouldn't touch a 07 278 here for that money (last year of course). I haven't been "looking" so I was shocked.. I paid 57 for my 248 when I bought it and I thought I got a smoking deal at the time.. A brand new base model 248 (or 258 either one) at the time was 70 in the showroom and that was NO options.

I stopped in my local dealer on the way to winter storage for my 225. They had a 248 in the showroom, 88k was the sticker, 68k was their price from the boat show, and they would take my 225 and 38k for the 248. Not to bad of a deal in my book, the 248 had ac/heat, but no windlass which we definatly want on our next boat.

I guess I am terribly happy I sold my 99 258 when I did!

I purchased my first four winns, 96 238 5.7L SX on a trailer for 18,500, March of 06, Sold it July of 2007 in less than 12 hours for 20,500.

I then purchased a 1999 258 5.7 efi dp w/ 54 hours in July of 07 21,500 , sold it sept. 08 23,750.

I got lucky in this market!!!
