Anyone have any experience with Four Winns and warranty work, service work, etc. when the dealer has gone out of business?

Depends ont he warranty work.

Anything mechanical and you can probably deal straight with volvo or merc. As for everything else - find a new local dealer and try to convince them to work with you on stuff.

I would think - in the worst case - You could pay for damages and Four Winns would re-imburse you or send you parts.

Dealers going under really suck.

I am looking forward to a new dealer finding their way to Seattle, that's for sure!

My boat has been out of warranty for a few years now so I don't have any recent experience with them. I will tell you from past experience that if you call customer service they will very likely "authorize" a local repair shop to do the work. They had one time paid for my dealer to send a tech to my home for the day because I complained about having to tow the boat 150 miles round trip for them to fix a few issues. They paid the dealer to have their mechanic spend half a day in my driveway clearing my "punch" list.

Shortly after purchase, my dealer closed. I contacted FW directly and spoke with Mike Stefani who arranged several options for me to get warrantly work done. I was completely satisfied with what was done for me by them and reccomend you call immediately to get things situated.

Hit and miss for me. The dealers closest to the lake I use (and serviced my old boat) won't touch my new boat. The ones I shopped at, but didn't buy from have been EXTREMELY helpful working with FW and keeping me on the water. Dudn't make any sense, but what else can I say.

That can really stink when a dealer closes. To cover my butt I purchased every available aftermarket warranty they offered at the time of purchase. We got coverage on the engines, drives and generator covered thru a Mercuiser package the rest from a warranty coverage company the dealer offered but if they go away they warranty is offered by other boat dealers in the area. We ended up with 6 years bow to stern on everything mechanical, electrical, cosmetic. I hope it's enough.
