Hello all,


Hoping you all can help settle a difference in opinion between my admiral and I. We are unsure of where we should "name" our new boat.

First off, the boat is a 2000 Four Winns 248 Vista. The name we have chosen is "Don't Stop Believin" (personal mean to us.....)

My thoughts are to put the name on the rear storage hatch above the swim platform. The admiral thinks it would be better on the small edge of the swim platform closest to the water.

What is your opinion? If someone has access to their 248, could you grab a measurement of the rear storage hatch for me?

My vote is for the rear storage hatch, it should be a bigger area compared to the small edge of the swim platform! Maybe have your home port on there also?

Have the 03 version of your boat. Storage hatch is the way to go!

How about a combo?

Name on the storage hatch? hailing port on the platform?

I put mine on the storage hatch and the port under the the transom shower. You have to look hard for the hailing port in the pic. It was very bright out when I took the picture

Thanks everyone for the response! Sounds like we will be doing the hatch also.

Does anyone happen to have the specs on the hatch from a 00 248 Vista?

Mine is tucked away in storage for another month......

First time poster. Bought my 248 Vista (2001) in January and getting excited to put it in the water. Thanks, CaptainWalt, the boat was unnamed and we like the idea of putting the name on the storage hatch with our port of call underneath like yours. Do you happen to have the dimensions for the lettering for the port of origin? Thanks for the help.
